You’re a music lover so I wanted to let you know about the upcoming Cantata Singers’ concert. It’s on November 17 and promises to be an excellent evening of music.
The repertoire we’re presenting explores the theme of the medieval allegory the Dance of Death (or Totentanz). There will be hauntingly beautiful music by composers: Mendelssohn, Togni, Distler, Eleanor Daley (the complete Requiem which includes “In Remembrance”), Tavener, and Piper (an Ottawa composer).
It’s Saturday, November 17, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Church (174 Wilbrod Ave). Free parking is available next to the church as well as on-street parking.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. Come at 7:30 p.m. and hear the pre-concert talk by Artistic Director Michael Zaugg. These talks are always a truly fascinating introduction into the music you will hear.
Tickets:
Adult: $25 - $5 discount on advance purchase
Senior: $20 - $5 discount on advance purchase
Student: $10
Of course, if you’d prefer to purchase a 2012-13 season’s ticket for the choir’s 3 concert series, including this one, it’s only $55 for adults and $45 for seniors.
NEW: Purchase your tickets online using PayPal at www.cantatasingersottawa.ca! Tickets are also available at The Leading Note, Compact Music, all CD Warehouse stores, or can be purchased directly from me.
